#MadhiveLovesLocal: Celebrating the businesses that build our communities

Table of contents

At Madhive, community is at our core. Our platform empowers advertisers to reach local audiences at scale, while our team members are busy building community in the neighborhoods they call home. That’s why we’re launching a series: #MadhiveLovesLocal. We’re shining a spotlight on the small business staples that our team members rely on – the places that strengthen our communities and make them unique.

Here’s a few of our team’s favorite local spots from across the country.

The Salad King: A taste of freshness in Cape Coral, FL

For Daniel Gonzalez, our Sales Enablement and Operations Lead, The Salad King has been more than just a lunch spot; it’s been a partner in his health journey. Locally-owned and sourcing ingredients from nearby farms, this Cape Coral gem serves meals where you can taste the freshness in every bite. Supporting them means supporting a true farm-to-table ecosystem.

Daniel’s pro tip: Grab a bowl of Kyle’s famous soups and say hi to the owner himself – his passion for quality food is as energizing as the menu!

Butch McGuire’s: A legendary Chicago community hub

Next up is Chicago, where Megan Pope, our Director of Learning & Performance, shares her love for a neighborhood institution: Butch McGuire’s. After moving in around the corner, Megan quickly became part of the community, getting invited to the annual Staff vs. Regulars softball game. It’s the kind of place that always makes room, no matter how busy. She and her husband even shared a beer with their favorite bartender on their wedding day!

With McGuire family members still behind the bar, the tradition of community lives on. As a sign on their wall says, “Never leave your zip code.” With a spot like this nearby, you wouldn’t want to.

Megan’s pro tip: Order the Irish egg rolls or stop by during the holiday season for some truly festive fun.

Mandy Bean Specialty Coffee: Brewing community  in Yonker’s, NY

In Yonkers, NY, Sharlyne Cabral, our Associate HR Generalist, shouts out a local favorite that brought a new kind of culture to her area: Mandy Bean Specialty Coffee. More than just a caffeine stop, it’s a community hub that created a welcome place to gather, connect and slow down. Plus, its patio pickup window is a game-changer for dog owners. For Sharlyne, it makes grabbing a weekend coffee easy without leaving her pup behind.

Sharlyne’s pro tip: Try their turkey & cheese croissant or the seasonal pumpkin shortbread ripple.

County Line Produce: Tradition and flavor in Hastings, FL

Rebecca Hancock, our Human Resources Manager, shares a Northeast Florida favorite: County Line Produce. For Rebecca, this family-run farm stand is the real deal, but what makes it a favorite is the whole experience. Tractors deliver produce straight from the field while you shop, and the friendly faces who remember regulars make you feel like you’re supporting a family tradition, not a chain. It’s a true hidden gem that quickly becomes a ritual.

Rebecca’s pro tip: Don’t leave without trying the datil pepper sauce. It’s sweet, spicy, and the reason you’ll always find an excuse to swing by.

PopCycle: Eclectic finds in Tucson, AZ

Lauren Harris, our People Programs Specialist, highlights one of her Tucson favorites: PopCycle. Woman-owned, locally made, and sustainability-driven, PopCycle is cozy, eclectic, and full of unique finds you won’t want to leave behind. Located on Tucson’s historic 4th Avenue, it’s a true reflection of the neighborhood's creative spirit, giving desert vibes.

Lauren’s pro tip: Count how many times you pick up an object and say “OMG this is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!”

At Madhive, we’re proud to celebrate the local businesses that make our neighborhoods feel like home. Check back often as we feature more favorites from our team across the country.
